Hi Friends!

This past week, I mentioned I used MCT oil in my coffee. I typically use the oil, but since I was traveling I bought the MCT oil powder. Dave noticed me putting it in my coffee and teased me about it on air. I guess it does look pretty weird, if you don’t know what it is!

I’ve been drinking my afternoon coffee like this for the last month or so. I’m always sampling and trying different things. My preferred eating style is Whole30. I just feel the best on it. But, several of my friends have been eating ketogenic since the 1st of the year (some before), and it has certainly intrigued me. I’m still reading up on it, so I’m not too knowledgeable about it just yet. So if you asked me how I’m eating these days I’d say, “if Whole30 and Keto had a baby, it’d be me!”

Several of you have reached out to ask me about my rocket fuel coffee. I don’t think I’ve made it the same twice, but I use a combination of the ingredients below. By the way, I wouldn’t call this straight up Bulletproof, but it’s in the same category, I’m sure.

Here’s what I do:

• 10-12 oz. brewed coffee. On the weekends, I’ll just use my leftover morning French Pressed.
• 1 tablespoon coconut milk (full fat)
• 1 tablespoon cacao butter. I got THIS one on Amazon.
• 1 tablespoon MCT oil. Here’s the one I use. It’s pricey, but it last a LONG time!

If I’ve not had enough protein for the day, I add a scoop of THIS

Sidenote: I put this in my coffee EVERY. SINGLE. MORNING. I’ve done this for almost 2 years now! You can’t taste it, and it’s a great way to get healthy protein in your diet everyday. Each serving is 2 scoops, but I just use 1. It’s 9 grams of protein.

But back to my AFTERNOON coffee … I’ve also been known to add a teaspoon of vanilla bean powder, too, to my rocket fuel. And I’ve also thrown in some cinnamon a few times. It’s really depends on what you’re in the mood for … mocha, vanilla, or something cinammony. I’ve even added a tablespoon of heavy cream before. It’s really just whatever you’re feeling. The idea is to consume the healthy fats!

I make sure my coffee is warm, and then I pour it into my Nutri-bullet. I add all of the ingredients, and the warmth of the coffee typically starts melting the cacao butter, etc. I blend it all together in the Nutri-bullet, and then I pour it back into my cup. I’ll usually pop it back in the microwave for :38 seconds. (yes, I always choose :38. I have no idea why. It’s not like it’s even my favorite number. I just always hit :38. I’m weird!).

If you like your coffee sweet, this will NOT be sweet enough for you!!

I don’t like sweet coffee, so this is perfect for me. If you want it sweeter, but want to keep it ketogenic, add Stevia drops or some sort of sugar substitute (you can google what’s acceptable). I don’t like chemicals, so I try to stay away from sugar substitutes, and sugar as much as I can.

I call this my Rocket Fuel Coffee because it really does give me energy! And it satiates me too! Give it a try and let me know what you think. And if you add any variations, be sure to share them back with me, too!

Does it have a strong Coconut taste to it? Not a huge fan of STRONG coconut flavor.
