This truly is the most wonderful time of the year! We just wrapped up 12 Days of Carmen’s Faves. I’ve already heard from so many of you, saying it helped with some Christmas gift ideas. Yay!! While there is absolutely nothing in the world wrong with gift-giving (gifts are actually my love language), it can be easy to get caught up in the pageantry of Christmas. But just a few days ago, we had to pause Carmen’s Faves because one of my dear friend’s mom passed away. I was at her bedside when my girlfriend’s mom took her last breath. And at that precise moment, Christmas arrived in that room. We were all reminded of why Jesus came to us…. He came to truly bring JOY to the WORLD. So, this Christmas season, enjoy your family, give the ones you love some sweet gifts, but take time to pause and truly celebrate the very best gift of all… JESUS. He’s my favorite FAVE!

{I’ve edited & reverse ordered my favorite things so you don’t have to scroll for days!}

12. We’re finally at Day 12 and Momma is delegating! So it’s Haley filling in for her today!

Mom was introduced to Fran’s a few years ago by Natalie Grant. It was love at first bite! Yep, she immediately fell in love, and has caused all of us in her proximity to fall in love too! Specifically, it’s the Grey & Smoked Sea Salt Caramels. Oh. My. Goodness. Y’all. They are incredible. They are sweet and salty and absolutely perfect. Melt in your mouth, addictive perfect!

There are several size options to choose from; including the wedding favor size mom mentioned, or you can send the larger gift boxes to your loved ones. These also make for a nice hostess gift or a little something for that couple that has everything. Of course, you can always just buy a box for yourself, and have them sitting out when the family comes over.

We’ve actually sent them as a Christmas gift to some of our vendors/friends of the station the last few years. And one thing in particular that I like is that you can send to multiple people in one order, even if each have a different address, and you can add a personalized message to it! Want to take a guess on who has been the one doing the sending? ☺

Shop FRAN’s HERE!

I’m giving away three pairs of Fran’s Salted Caramel boxes today! Comment below with someone you would like to gift a box to, and if you’re chosen, we’ll send you one as well! I’ll pick a winner today at NOON!

11. My girlfriend, Siebe, introduced me to this amazing paper company in Nashville. It’s called Hester & Cook. They have amazing things!

Gold and cream runner on Brandon & Siebe’s table when we did the show from their kitchen table!

I love the table runners. Seriously LOVE! I’m such a sucker for a pretty table! I love everything about a table! I love to set a table. For ALL occasions. And for ALL holidays! I think it’s just one of those simple pleasures in life. Plus, I love the time spent around a table! To me, there’s not too many things in life that is better than gathering with family and friends, over a home-cooked meal around the dinner table, or bar, or counter, whatever may be the case. So many meaningful conversations happen there. And belly laughs too! I think a pretty table is the icing on the cake!

Gold and cream striped table runner with the wedding favor sized Fran’s caramels for my bible study!

With these runners, you can make any Sunday dinner with the family feel extra special, simply by pulling out the roll, and cutting a piece off. Just the other night for our last bible study of the year, I cut a strip of the gold & cream striped runner, and set it out on my counter just to add a little holiday sparkle to the presentation. Of course, ultimately it’s just about being together, but I truly do love the art (and love) of entertaining.  Down-home Southern entertaining, not high falutin’.

We are giving away a couple rolls TOMORROW (12/16) on Instagram. Head to @themorningcruise, follow us and comment on the post TOMORROW (12/16) to win!

10. This has become my favorite prayer journal. It’s a 6 month journal from Val Marie Paper; it’s thin, and it’s easy to write in. And it’s broken down in these segments:

  • World.
  • Nation & Leaders.
  • My Loves.
  • My Family.
  • Sweet Friends.
  • Those Hurts.
  • Personal.
  • Answered Prayers.
  • Scriptures.
  • Quotes.
  • And some other blanks to personalize.

So many times I get distracted when I’m trying to pray. This has been a simple tool I’ve used the last several years to organize my thoughts. It helps me keep notes of who I’m praying for and what I’m praying about. But the thing I’ve loved MOST about these journals is that I can go back and see how God has answered so many prayers. As a matter of fact, there has been something I have been diligently praying about for a few YEARS, and God has answered our prayers. Just in the last few months!!! AND, crazy enough – is cementing it this very day! My eyes are welling up with tears as I type this. Oh, how I can’t wait to share with you about it in the coming weeks…..

Maybe using a prayer journal like this could be a new way to kick off 2018!

Val was so sweet and offered us a discount code for everything on her website {except the yearly journals}. Use “CARMEN10” for 10% off your whole purchase!

Lastly, today (12/14) is the last day to order to guarantee Christmas delivery!

Dillion Tank Dress

9. A few years ago I went to the Tampa Junior League’s Holiday Market at the Fairgrounds. It was packed with all sorts of fun things. But, the booth I loved the most was Jane Hudson! The stripes are what grabbed my attention. And then I felt the material. Um, hello! YES! I’m probably not describing it right, but it’s a cottony-spandex. Meaning, it’s soft but it holds its shape. I bought the Dillon Tank Dress in black … because a black & white striped dress is a staple in every woman’s closet. And the cut was very flattering for those of us that don’t have the flattest of tummies. I wore that dress at least once a week for about 4 months. Spring came, and I ordered the light blue striped. And then later that year for July 4th, I ordered the red. So, yes, it is true…I have this dress in 3 colors. The only one I’m missing is the navy!

The great thing about the Dillon Tank (or any of Jane Hudson’s dresses) is that you can pair it with literally ANYTHING! I have worn it by itself with a big necklace on a long chain (when it’s blazing hot outside!) and I’ve worn it with a denim shirt or a denim jacket. I’ve worn it with booties. And I’ve worn it with sandals. Their pieces are so versatile, and so COMFORTABLE. I could not love this dress more! It’s hands down MY VERY FAVORITE!!! Also, it’s currently on sale! My second favorite dress is the Jennings Swing Dress! You won’t be disappointed, I promise you. Abbey has the Zoe Maxi Dress. It looks amazing on her.

Jennings Swing Dress

And just for reference, I wear a medium.

Coincidentally Kristin, creator & designer of Jane Hudson, is a graduate for the University of Florida, and has ties to our listening area. AND, she’s been generous enough to give us a discount code! Between now and the end of the year, you can use “CARMEN20” for 20% off your entire purchase!

I’m giving 2 dresses away today at NOON (December 13). Comment below to win! You pick the dress!

8. Hi I’m Carmen. And I’m a coffee snob. First it started with 1 cup a day (back in my college days). Then, I quickly increased to two. But, doing morning for the last 20+ years, I have at least 3, sometimes 4 cups per morning. My preferred brew is French Press. And I love my morning coffee black. In the last few years, I’ve added an afternoon “fix.” I like it iced with a splash of creamer. I have a straight up emotional relationship with coffee! Every time I step into Starbizzle, it just feels like a mini-vacation. (yes, I’m weird!)

Three Christmases ago, we were at a family friends house, and Hope served this amazing coffee with our desserts. I was flipping out over it!  I’m not much of a flavored coffee girl, but this was incredible!! I finally asked her what it was. She told me “Fresh Market’s Christmas Blend.” I sent Pete out the next day to buy us some. Since it was December 26, it was half price and he came with 3 pounds each of regular & decaf. We enjoyed that coffee well into the new year!

Now one of my new traditions is to run past Fresh Market in early November, and buy their Christmas Blend. All during Sharathon, I brewed a French Press pot for me, Haley & Jayar. I love this coffee! I think it’s the vanilla combined with the clove. It’s just so so good! And of course, you have to have cute mugs to serve it in.

To purchase:

-The Fresh Market Christmas Blend – you can only purchase these in store. Click HERE to find a store near you! $11/1 lb. bag

-Buffalo Check Mugs from Pottery Barn – HERE! They’re currently on sale for a set of 4 for $25!

-Bodum French Press – HERE! $28 on Amazon!

7. I am SO EXCITED about today’s FAVE!! I’ve fallen head over heels in love with DIFF Eyewear. If you know me, you know I love me some sunglasses.  And I love all different styles & colors. Gold Aviators & Tortoise frames with blue lenses or gold gradient are my favorite FAVES. {Wow. That was really specific!}

I learned about DIFF earlier this year. And here’s what I love about DIFF. They are the “Toms” of Eyewear. And when I say Toms, you know what I mean by that, right? When you buy a pair of Toms, they donate a pair of shoes to a child in need. DIFF is the same! Every time you purchase a pair of sunglasses, you are purchasing a pair of eyeglasses for someone in need. You BUY one. They GIVE one. You can read about it HERE.

At first I was skeptical about the quality of DIFF. I didn’t expect them to be on the same level as Maui Jim’s, Ray Bans, Oakley or other well known brands. I bought my first pair over the summer (some Pink Aviators with gold frame) and I was 100% impressed with the quality. So much so, that I ordered the Bellas (tortoise, blue frame, polarized) and I’ve not worn another pair since!

Much like ABLE, I love when companies combine quality with philanthropy. To me, this is a winning combination!  DIFF offers the same designer style brands for a fraction of the cost!

And here’s what I’m most tickled about! DIFF has given us a promo code! Use “CARMEN25” for 25% off between NOW and Thursday, December 21st!

{Fine print: Promo code not available on celebrity collaborations}.

Shop HERE!

Register by commenting below for my favorite pairs of Diffs. I’m giving away:

-2 Bella {Tortoise with gold frames)

-2 Bella {Tortoise with blue frames} Seen in pic!

CarCar would not steer you wrong. You will seriously love DIFF! And together, we really can make a difference.

6. Today’s FAVE is for the girl that loves her jammies. And I am SO THAT girl! Getting up at 4:45 every morning means I’m pretty much ready to get comfy at 8 o’clock every night, with lights out at 9. I love these sleep shirts! I just bought this red one, and have the blue & gray striped one too!

I got them at Nordy’s and they’re on sale right now! They are $38 each or two for $60. And Nordstrom always has free shipping – no minimum purchase required! You can get one for you, and one for a friend.

Shop for them HERE!

5. I’ll be honest, I’ve never really carried a lunchbox before. I mean, I did in elementary school. As a matter of fact, my very 1st lunchbox was a Holly Hobbie. Do you remember her?! But, as an adult, I’ve just not been a lunchbox kinda girl.  I mostly grabbed lunch out. Or just didn’t eat.

But then, Whole30 happened. Two years ago. And I started cooking. And bringing my “brunch” {lunch at 10:30 when you do a morning show} to work. Because, of course, my lunch had to be “compliant” … Whole30’ers will know this term well.

And every girl needs a cute lunchbox, right? So, I went to the Vera Bradley Outlet store, and got me a really cute one. And then I bought my daughter, Haley one. And then my niece, Paulina. And I’m sure Abbey snagged one in there somewhere too. And now we’re all pretty much a card-carrying, Vera Bradley, lunch box totin’ family! And it’s one of my favorite things!

Shop for Vera Bradley lunch boxes HERE!

Or you can go to the Vera Bradley Outlet and get about 40% off these prices.

4. My girls & I love ABLE!! I’ve actually had a long-standing relationship with ABLE (formerly Fashionable). I can remember when their only offering was hand-woven scarves! The scarves were one of my favorite things years ago, and I was giddy when they reached out to me and told me how many of our listeners ordered that year.

The thing you need to know about ABLE is that they are a lifestyle brand focused on ending generational poverty by working with women who have overcome extraordinary circumstances. They manufacture directly in the communities they wish to impact, both locally and globally. ABLE has come a long way since scarves! They now have amazing leather goods, jewelry and much more. I love their bags! I’ve carried an ABLE leather bag for my laptop the last 5+ years. My favorite is the Alem Utility Bag. This year, they introduced the METALLICS. And who doesn’t love them some metallic?! As a matter of fact, I have several of the pieces give away!!

But, that’s not all!! Can we just take a minute and talk about the new Chelsie necklace? I ordered this necklace about two weeks ago, and have probably worn it 10 out of the last 14 days. I love this necklace! It goes with everything! It truly is my favorite necklace right now! I also love Chelsie’s story. You can read about it HERE. Being the daughter of an alcoholic who wasn’t able to beat this disease, I am cheering so hard for Chelsie. I actually say a little prayer for her every time I slip her design over my head.

I love the whole idea of helping someone else with every purchase that I make, and that’s exactly what you’re doing when you shop your Christmas list at ABLE. And finally – for TODAY ONLY (December 5) – Use: CARMEN20 – and get 20% off your purchase! Fine print: It can’t be combined with other codes, but it does work on markdowns! Good on orders of $50 or more. Yay!

I can’t say enough about this company. I know them personally and love them very much!

3. It’s THYME to get on the THYMES Frasier Fir Christmas Candle Train! For reals…

Come to my house (or the studio!) the day after Thanksgiving through Christmas, and there is a 100% chance this candle will be burning! As a matter of fact, this year, you could’ve stopped by my house, office or studio, and this candle would’ve been burning BEFORE Thanksgiving. This is hands-down my favorite Christmas candle. I have the 3 wick. I have the green glass one. I have the white tin, tree branch one . I have the smaller silver tin one. And I have the votive. I think that about covers it.

This truly is the best smelling Christmas candle on the market. Especially if you’re like me and not into the froo-froo smelling candles. Give me the woodsy ones all day, er’day.

Oh, and a HUGE thank you to Hope for introducing me to my most beloved Christmas candle 3 years ago! She deserves all the credit.

Here’s a link to the whole collection on Thymes website!

I get my 3-wick HERE!

2. She Reads Truth! I first saw Ellie Holcomb post about She Reads Truth a few years ago, and then I noticed that my oldest, Haley, was getting these bible studies “auto-shipped.” My bible study breaks for the Summer, so this past July I decided to order a SRT bible study for myself. I ordered “The Life of David.” I’ve done in-depth bible studies on David before, so I was interested in participating in this one. The thing that was different about this study, as opposed to others I’d done, is that it wasn’t as “guided” as I had been accustomed to. But, what I loved about it is that it had me in a significant amount of scripture each day, and then gave me a whole page to journal anything I wanted. Some days I asked God about a verse I had just read. Other days, I simply wrote a prayer. Yet others, it was more of a journal entry. The studies are definitely bible study meets journal.

Bottom line, She Reads Truth is about women being in the Word of God every day! I want to be this woman! And the more we’re in the Word, the more we want (and need!) to be in the Word. When I start getting snippy, 9 times out of 10, I can trace it back to neglecting my quiet time with Jesus! I think these studies will be a great tool and treat for the women & (and men!) that you love most! They’re rich in content, they’re beautifully designed, and they’re also the best gift you can give yourself!

Individual studies are around $24 each, or you could set up an auto ship for around the same price monthly, and you’ll get every study for the entire year!! I’m doing this for 2018.

Check She Reads Truth HERE!

Merry Christmas!

I have been holding on to this cute thing since JUST AFTER Mother’s Day! If I had seen it before Mother’s Day, it would’ve made the list then. It’s been hard to not tell you about it, because you know me …. When I find something I like I love to tell you about it.

1st up: The Palma Cosmo Makeup Bag by Veeshee.

Day 1 of 12 Days of Carmen's Faves

Yeah, yeah, I know what you’re saying… “What’s so special about a makeup bag, Carmen?” Welp, I’m glad you asked!! These makeup bags are CUSTOMIZABLE!!! You can pick the pattern & fabric that you want, on both the inside and outside. You can also have a name or monogram embroidered which makes it super personal! And they make the design process so fun! I had Haley design one (that we’ll be giving away on air) and the turn around time was less than a week! When it arrived, we were both impressed with the quality of the bag. So much so, that I immediately went on and designed 2 more!

And, one other really cool thing … you can use the discount code “CARMEN10” for 10% off!

These will be great for daughters, nieces, aunts, besties, and any other women in your life. They’re also really affordable at $35.

Check them out HERE!

Frans would be the perfect gift for my supervisor, and I would love to be able to gift her with a box! We work night shift at a small local hospital together, and she has such a compassionate and giving heart, always giving of herself and her time! She pours her heart into these patients and will sit and just be a listening ear to those who need it, even when it puts her behind! She never lets a need go unnoticed, and is always willing to do even the dirtiest of jobs, if it means helping a patient to maintain their dignity, and helping her coworkers to give the best care to our patients possible.

When my MIL passed away in August, and my 16 year old sister in law had to move states to come live with us, if was a hard time for everyone, and my friend did all she could to help me out, and gave generously from her heart, financially, to help my little family in such a hard time!

Then in November, she blessed me with a surprise birthday party at work, with all our coworkers. She just never stops giving, and I know this would be the perfect gift for her chocolate loving soul, to show her how much of a blessing she is to those around her!

I would love to nominate my bestiie/ neighbor “Frannie” for “Fran’s chocolates”. She’s amazing and we team together to in times of mothering and home chaos/needs. Just recently, twice, she has sat during the long window hours to meet and watch over needed repair of a plumber and contractor due to some recent household issues. (Among other countless saves). She’s a giver, supporter and prayer warrior, I love her and would love to bless her as we both balance our many duties helping one another . Thank you.

I would love to nominate Brett and Annette Duncan. These two are the epitome of servants as described in the Bible. Brett is the worship pastor at our church, and also a local high school chorus teacher. Oh, and he’s a husband and a dad to two small children. His plate is FULL! His wife Annette is a full time wife, mother, pharmacist, Sunday school teacher and choir member. Her plate is FULL! They both deserve something special this year for all they do for others, our church, and our community. Even with their full plate, they still have room on the corners of their plate for some chocolate. Please select my friends and satisfy their taste buds in reward for their servant hearts!

I nominate the DeGroff family in Newnan to receive Frans chocolates.. They lost their home in a fire on Saturday. They are all safe but dad was in Kuwait and mom was able to get three children (one is an infant) and the family dog out safely. As we were playing in the snow last Saturday they watched their home burn. Let The Joy FM bless them this holiday season..

Good Morning Carmen!!!
I LOVE that you are offering to give away a box of these chocolates to someone special. I have that perfect person. We own a mower repair shop in Port Charlotte, FL and one of our customers is one of those special people you rarely meet in a lifetime. He came into our lives just wanting a part several years ago and ended up being so special to us. He is one of the most giving people I have met. He does not have a lot at all and he and his wife are always sponsoring families, taking care of the poor, adopting villages in his homeland of Nicaragua and helping the elderly in Nicaragua with blankets and companionship and much, much more. He and his wife never ask for anything but always give. This, to me, exemplifies the life of Jesus Christ. I would love to surprise him with this. Thank you so much for all that you do and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Good Morning Car Car – First of all I have enjoyed All of your Favs. I have never tried salted caramel nor has my husband; however, IF chosen, I would like to share this with my Bible study leader, Deb Byrnes. She is from the South, like me, and l know she would love them. Her father is a retired minister and he had been living with her,
her husband and their two rescue dogs. Recently the doctors felt it would be better for her father to go into an
assisted living facility (he is in a wheelchair, has one leg, other issues. We could take the salted caramels to him – he would love them. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

I’d love to treat my friend and neighbor Robin….what a year she has had. She had breast cancer and surgery, lost her mother, buried several beloved pets…..and still ministers at her church, volunteers so much and keeps up with a very demanding job with a smile!
I’d love to encourage her!

I would like to nominate my 15 year old son Mikey. He was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis last year. Medications have not been working for him and he has terrible migraines, falls a lot due to imbalance and many other symptoms. He currently cannot attend school and has to stay at home due to his medical issues. I would love to give him a box of the milk chocolates to brighten his day. Please consider him. Thank you.

My daughter is so deserving of the Fran’s caramel gift. She just turned 31 years old yesterday and gave the greatest gift to a couple on December 9th – she was a surrogate. She delivered a healthy baby boy and I was privileged to be present to see the faces of the mother and father as they were handed their child. My daughter struggled with infertility and through much prayer, God granted her and her husband the desire of their heart – my beautiful 3 year old grandson. She knows firsthand the heartache of wanting a child but being told you could not have one. She is a caring, strong woman who never draws attention to herself, but has the most giving heart. She is a blessing and I am so proud of her. Merry Christmas to you Carmen … love listening to the Joy FM and the Morning Cruise.

I fell in love with my then future daughter in law Libby the day I met her. She is the most loving, giving person to everyone. She is a wonderful wife to my son and the most patient mother to my two precious grand kiddos and she is now expecting #3. She exudes the love of Christ to everyone . I know she would love Fran’s caramels.

I would like to nominate my brother and sister in law for Fran’s chocolate! . I think they could use a “pick me up” surprise. They are currently living with their son after losing their home due to flooding from Hurricane Irma. They have to completely rebuild their home, and lives. During Irma, my brother was concerned about my family being without electricity and brought us a generator, all the while having to pick up and leave their home unexpectedly after the storm on Monday.

I would like to nominate my sister-in-law, Sonya Duren, for a box of chocolates. Not only is she a breast cancer survivor, mom extraordinaire, and amazing Gammy, she is a long-suffering wife, as she has had to put up with my brother for 33 years!!

Reply

I would like to nominate the lady who cleans our office. Her name is Carolyn and she is such a joy. Carolyn lost her father and brother last year, and her mother passed away years ago, and she is single with no kids. I know that she feels a bit lonely this time of year and I’d love to bring some Christmas cheer to her. She takes such good care of me and my colleagues. She has become family to us. Please consider Carolyn as she doesn’t have much, except for her dog, Short Legs. 🙂 Thank you so much for doing this!

My church’s youth pastors wife, Shawn is such an amazing woman! She always goes above and beyond the calling. She is a mom to 4, a Mimi to 4 and #5 is on the way, a friend to many, and is always doing more for everyone else and hardly anything for herself. I have known her for close to 12 years and I consider her my 3rd mother 💕
I recently got married and without me even asking, she helped with making so many decorations, she got there early the day of to help me finish setting up and make sure my day went perfect. She has such a large heart for all the kids in their youth group. She considers them all her kids and even picks up and takes some of them home for Wednesday night service. Even with having all of that to do, she also sings with the other ladies on the praise & worship team. She is a very Godly woman with a very kind and giving heart and I hope to one day be just like her.

I would send the caramels to my Mother in Law who will be spending Christmas away from her 3 boys this year.

I would like to gift a box to Candice, a coworker who became my best friend, and who has helped me get through a very difficult year. On January 27th, while working in the ER, I passed out at a patient’s bedside. This was only the beginning of countless hospital stays, ER visits, doctors, specialists, tests, and now I am going to Mayo Clinic on Christmas day for 3 days for what we are hoping will be a final diagnosis. Candice has encouraged me during my darkest days, made me laugh, listened to me vent, cried with me, and held me up when I could barely make it through one more day. Candice is in school to become a nurse and I can’t imagine anyone more qualified to care for the needs of another human being. She is deserving of so much more than I could ever repay.

Tomorrow my husband graduates from the University of Florida (funny since he is a HUGE Alabama Fan. He does represent everyday with his Bama hat at school 🙂 ). It’s been a long journey and I know the we wouldn’t have been able to finish it without the support and help from not only our families, but also our neighbors Donnie & Gail and Marsha. My husband does not work, so I work full time during the week and a part time job on the weekend. Since our daughter was born almost 3 years ago they have helped out by taking her for the day so my husband could study or work on a project. They have never asked for anything in return and it’s hard to think of what to get them because it seems like they have everything. This would be such a great surprise for them. We are truly blessed to have such a great family in our lives.

I would send the box to my mother in law who is spending her first Christmas without her husband this year. My father in law just lost his battle with Liver Cancer at the end of September. He was able to come home from Mayo and die peacefully in his home after a very grueling and painful battle. Everyone loves receiving gifts in the mail and this sweet surprise would brighten her spirits. He loved his chocolate and sweets, with his nickname for her being Sugar. Please consider selecting her.

I followed your12 days and it was a lot of fun! But today really hit me that I NEED these chocolates for my mom! This has been a really rough year for my mom and she needs the sweets to help her put on weight. She weighs less than100 lbs! Her health is at risk due to being so thin! But the year started with my dad (her husband of 57 years) passing away 10 weeks after a brain tumor diagnoses. He was her caretaker, as she has early/mid stage dementia. My sister and I take turns being with her around the clock, so she is never alone. I think these sweet treats, if they are as good as you say, would entice her to eat them! Thank you and God Bless you all! Love your show and listen everyday on my way to work! You make me laugh and cry and I appreciate you!

I would send a box of chocolates to my friend Linda who lost her mom and 21-yr old daughter within 5-weeks of each other during the Holidays a couple years ago. It never gets easy but a box of chocolates will give her a reason to smile. Thank you and God bless

Merry Christmas!!! The entire time I was listening to you guys talk about the caramels, prior to the giveaway being announced, I had Ms. Betty in mind to send these to. She is an elderly lady that lives in the mountains of North Carolina. She has no family, does not drive, and hasn’t been able to climb her stairs to sleep in her bedroom for almost two years post a double knee replacement. Her “pets” are the wild rabbits that she feeds daily. I met Ms. Betty over 17 years ago when I was a hospice respite caregiver for her sister while in college at Appalachian State University. We have been in touch ever since although I live in Georgia and have not seen her in over eight years. My heart always breaks for her living such a secluded life and I was thinking I need to send her something to cheer up the holiday season for her. So excited about the possibility of being selected for this giveaway! Merry Christmas 🙂

Good Morning Carmen,
I would like to nominate my friend Lisa. Lisa has had quite the year and I would like to bring a little joy to her life right now. She is the mother of 2 children 18 and 15. Lisa has been caring for her father who was diagnosed with Alzheimer in her home for the past few years, while working full time job that she had to take on due to her husband leaving her. Recently her dad has taken a turn for the worse and Hospice has been brought in to care for him. She has also had to adjust as her son left in August for college in VT. With everything life has thrown at her she always has a smile on her face and still manages to give herself selflessly to all who know her.
This would so warm my heart if we could do this for my sweet friend!

Merry Christmas to you, Dave, Bill ,and Carmen God Bless.

I would like to have this sweet gift sent to my sister, friend and donor Sara! Four years ago I was diagnosed with a type of leukemia that made a stem cell transplant necessary. My sister was a match and the Lord worked through her cells and I’m in remission! We were your typical sisters that didn’t get along too well growing up but the Lord had a plan and this definitely brought us closer together. As hard as is was for her to fly down to Gator nation (she is a Vols fan-haha!!) she came and saved my life! We do not get to spend Christmases together as my husband is a pastor and we have 5 children…we are also not able to send gifts this year so this would be so nice!! What I’ll always remember about that time is how my sister sent bible verses written on construction paper for me to hang in my hospital room. Joshua 1:9 was my favorite! Just heard you all announce it as the verse of the year ❤️

I nominate my husband Tim. He has such a servicing heart. We have a couple of single ladies in our neighborhood, and every time something brakes or needs fixing in their house and/or car. guess who they call? My hubby! He helps them gladly. Every time he cuts our grass, he also cuts the next door neighbor’s grass. One a month, he goes to “car care”, which is a ministry that fixes cars for people that can’t afford a mechanic, and they do it for free. He spends the whole day there, sometimes buying the parts himself. He also is helping my son out by converting the basement to a “in-laws” quarters, being him the one doing must of the labor…. I can go on and on, but will stop here… 😆

I nominate my Aunt Kathy for a box of Fran’s. She is such a sweet, selfless, godly woman. She visits three ladies at the nursing home every week that are no longer able to come to church. When we moved back to our hometown in Georgia she came and helped us unpack. She truly has a servant heart.

I’d send a box to my MIL- she’s an avid chocoholic and every year we take her Russell Stovers when we visit. It would be fun to get something different this year.

I would really like it gift the Fran’s Salted Caramels to my little sister, who is also my best friend. She was the first one to introduce me to the caramel and sea salt combination and I will be ever greatful. She is so busy and hardly ever treats herself, so these would be perfect to give a little moment of a sweet treat.

I would give a box to my sister. She could reallly use some cheering up this Christmas season and chocolate always helps!

I’d like to send a box to my “second set of parents.” They were there for me when my family was really struggling and going through hard times when I was a child, and they always encouraged me to put my faith in God first and to trust in Him! Don’t know where I would be now without their support.

My neighbors, Brad and Lori Schorr, are the best neighbors anyone could ask for! When I was newly divorced I moved in across the street from them. I have a huge yard and one morning I was out front speading 150 bales of pine straw. Lori drove by, stopped, backed up and asked if I needed help. I said I was okay, then the tears started. She told me Brad would be home in a couple of hours and then told me to stop and wait for him. (I didn’t stop.) Brad came with a fried and we worked until sundown. A couple of weeks later he offered to cut my yard, which is about an acre. I protested and he insisted. He’s been cutting, trimming and blowing off my yard for over seven years!!! They moved to another neighborhood back in May and now he trailers his mower over and still cuts my yard! Not only does Lori not mind him giving of his weekend time to me, but she’s usually the one insisting that he come over. They don’t even like for me to give them gifts in return but I insist! Please send both boxes to them. They are a blessing from God!

Good Morning. I would like to send a box to my boss. Her name is Sam. She has been so gracious to me this year. I just started working with her and 1 week later I went out on maternity leave and a month after I came back I had to out for another 3 weeks for surgery. She made sure that I don’t get behind in my work. She always says family and health comes first. She works so hard and always puts others first.

I would love to win something for my new Daughter In law, Elyse, she is a true “sweet” addition to our family and know she would love these gems. She became a member of our family in 07/2017 and would appreciate being considered for a gift for her and my son. Living in TN, we miss a lot of opportunities with them, but food is a way to reach right into their soul and share a special moment together.

Id love to give a box to my mother. I live in the Atlanta area, and she lives near Indianapolis. The Sunday before Halloween, she fell and broke her arm. She has a humeral head fracture, and it required surgery. She has 11 screws and a plate in her arm, and is still out of commission, and is considerable pain…even 6 weeks later. Also, two of her best friends have lost children in the past 2 weeks, so there has been alot of sorrow also. I think a surprise box of chocolates will bring some cheer into her crazy emotional world. I wish I was able to go visit this year, especially with everything going on, but circumstances prevent that. Thanks for reading!!

I would like to nominate my best friend since high school – Leah Mathews, in Houston TX. for the Fran’s caramels. She has been there for me through the death of my mom as a Sr. in high school to all the other ups and downs for the last 40+ years. Even living with her husband as an Ex-Pat in Scotland, Norway, and Indonesia – we never lost touch and whenever we are able to be together it’s like no time has past at all. She and her family would so enjoy these. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

My wife is a huge chocolate lover!!! Her birthday and our anniversary are both in December. Finances don’t allow me to honor her during this time as I would like to. So, I would love to share a box of Fran’s chocolates with her. Since this would also count as my box, I would share the other box with the Production Team that my wife and I serve on at our church. These guys are like family to us!!!

Oh these would be perfect for my friend Ann Lasher. We used to work together and I don’t get to see her much anymore, but I know these chocolates from Fran’s would brighten her day and bring a smile of remembrance of our wonderful time working together.
